OK, the fact is, there are more Republican, than Democrat governors and some of those states are now doing better than some others, as the L.A. Times goes on to point out.
But another fact is, the states currently making headlines for taking on serious problems and producing good results, are governed by Republicans. In 2010, there was something of a sea change in American politics, driven by the Tea Party, that paved the way for many Republican wins that November.?
What we are arguing about now is whether or not that trend continues, or if America slides backwards into the backward style of governance of an extremely progressive Democrat Party. Along with the particular electoral battles to be waged in the run up to November, is that central one underlying the entire election. It's imperative that the right side win. The GOP is far more representative of the right side for America, than are the Democrats. We must drive that message home whenever and wherever we can.
Mitt Romney observed this week that he was beginning to see a pattern: States with Republican governors are doing better in terms of job creation than those with Democrats at the helm.?
"I have to tell you," he told donors at a fundraiser in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, "I'm overwhelmingly optimistic about the future of jobs ... and income growth in America if we apply the policies that Republican governors are putting in practice right now."
Romney has a point: Of the states whose unemployment rate is below the national average of 8.2%, most are run by Republican governors.
